Meal prep is very important when starting your fasting lifestyle.

As you start, you might feel hungry in the morning, which could be out of habit or a simple cortisol spike. Typically your cortisol will spike 2 hours after waking.

Here are some important tips for meal prep:

  • Cook your meals the night before and have them ready

  • Plan the times you will eat and your eating window for that day

  • Ensure you always have a meal with you when you are out. This could be a snack like boiled eggs or purse bacon.

  • If you are eating out, look ahead at the menu. Look for fatty proteins like steak, salmon, bacon, and eggs.

  • Try meal-prepping your proteins on a weekly basis

  • Invest in an air fryer to prepare quick meals

  • Buy in bulk, where possible. This will help save money and meal prep in bulk

  • Aim for consistency, not perfection. If you can only eat processed meat, it's better than sugar or carbohydrates.
