Planning Your Fast
Meal Prep
Meal prep is very important when starting your fasting lifestyle.
As you start, you might feel hungry in the morning, which could be out of habit or a simple cortisol spike. Typically your cortisol will spike 2 hours after waking.
Important tips
Here are some important tips for meal prep:
Cook your meals the night before and have them ready
Plan the times you will eat and your eating window for that day
Ensure you always have a meal with you when you are out. This could be a snack like boiled eggs or purse bacon.
If you are eating out, look ahead at the menu. Look for fatty proteins like steak, salmon, bacon, and eggs.
Try meal-prepping your proteins on a weekly basis
Invest in an air fryer to prepare quick meals
Buy in bulk, where possible. This will help save money and meal prep in bulk
Aim for consistency, not perfection. If you can only eat processed meat, it's better than sugar or carbohydrates.
Make it fun; meal prep with your spouse or family
